Welcome to Reading Class
My students
are second graders that are eager to improve their reading skills. We
practice reading every day. We learn about word families, vowels, and
even write in our journals. After Spring Break, I will begin teaching
third graders. We will be reading every day with a focus on
comprehension and word study.
Current Class Notes
My third grade
classes are now focusing on the End of Grade tests by becoming extremely
focused and practice the strategies learned during the course of the
year.

Accelerated Reader
Students
are encouraged to ask Mrs. Treadway about the books we have in our
library. I am sure that students will find many interesting treasures as
they search thru the different genres in our school library. Not only
will students find this interesting, but checking out the different
genres could be benenficial as they prepare for the EOG.
Parent Tips
Continue to read to your child each night. Children need to visit
print in a special book and spending quality time with you. Be sure to
have mini-discussions about the book. This will reinforce what your
child is doing at school in his/her reading classes.
Upcoming Events
Please refer to the memos sent home by your child's classroom
teacher for upcoming events at school.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call the school
office, 242- 1544.
